Enoggera School Secures Place in Latest Transport Safety Funding Round

Our Lady of the Assumption School in Enoggera has secured a place in Queensland’s latest School Transport Infrastructure Program funding round, making it the only school listed under the Metropolitan region among the successful Tranche Nine projects announced in early 2026.

The Catholic school was one of 32 schools benefiting from 31 projects funded through the latest round, which allocated $4 million to new works across Queensland. Our Lady of the Assumption had 303 students enrolled from Prep to Year 6 in July 2025, giving the project direct relevance to a sizeable local school community.

Enoggera Proposal Progressed Through Funding Process

Queensland Parliament records show Our Lady of the Assumption was among 139 schools that submitted an idea or expression of interest for investigation between 1 July 2025 and 27 April 2026.

The school later appeared among 48 formal nominations covering 51 schools considered for Tranche Nine. Under the program, the responsible asset owner investigates a proposal and can submit a formal nomination before it proceeds to technical assessment and funding consideration.

Transport improvements around Our Lady of the Assumption predate the current funding round. Queensland transport records from 2010–11 list a pedestrian crossing project at Hurdcotte Street near the school, with $28,000 in state funding identified for crossing facilities.

Next Update Will Define Scope and Timing

The School Transport Infrastructure Program can fund measures including pedestrian facilities, bus infrastructure, pathways, bikeways and drop-off areas around schools.

The next significant update will be the release of project details showing what work has been approved, where it will be delivered and when construction is expected to begin.
